Bengal Air 400 is an extraordinarily fine handwoven cotton muslin, created from delicate 400-count cotton yarn. At approximately 30 GSM, it is almost weightless in the hand—sheer, breathable and responsive enough to move with the slightest current of air.

The fabric has been boiled in regular water and subsequently softened, giving it a gentle, pliable handle while preserving the distinctive lightness of fine Bengal muslin. It has virtually no rigidity or imposed structure; instead, it floats, gathers and falls into soft, translucent layers.

Its colour is a warm, cream-toned off-white rather than a bright, stark or optical white. This subtle warmth gives the muslin a quieter, more natural appearance and lends itself beautifully to delicate layering.

Care Instructions

Handle gently due to the exceptional fineness of the yarn and weave. Hand wash separately in cold water using a mild, cotton-safe detergent. Do not soak, scrub, wring or machine wash. Gently press out excess water between clean towels and dry flat in the shade. Iron on a low setting with a pressing cloth. Testing all washing and finishing methods on a small swatch before cutting is strongly recommended.
