Pearl Current is an exceptional handwoven Matka silk twill that brings together substantial weight and an unexpectedly beautiful, fluid drape.

At approximately 310 GSM, the fabric feels rich and reassuringly substantial, yet it remains wonderfully flowy. It falls into broad, relaxed folds rather than holding a stiff or rigid shape, making it especially beautiful in garments designed around movement.

The handwoven twill creates a subtle diagonal texture across the surface, while the naturally irregular Matka silk yarn introduces delicate slubs and tonal variations. Its pearly white shade has a soft ivory undertone and a quiet, luminous quality—it is not a stark or optical white.

Rather than appearing glossy or overly formal, the silk has a refined, softly radiant finish. The interplay of the twill weave, Matka texture and pearlescent colour gives the cloth depth even though it remains completely monochromatic.

Small variations in the weave, yarn thickness and surface are natural characteristics of handwoven Matka silk and make every length beautifully individual.

Despite its heavyweight GSM, this is not a stiff or rigid silk. It is best suited to silhouettes that allow the fabric to fall naturally and showcase its broad, flowing drape.

Lining may be added to tailored garments for additional structure and a beautifully finished interior.

CARE

Dry cleaning is strongly recommended to preserve the Matka silk yarns, pearly colour and handwoven twill structure. Avoid machine washing or vigorous agitation.
