    Descripción

    This refined handwoven wool and silk blended fabric has a soft natural ivory tone, delicate texture, and an elegant, gently fluid drape. Combining the warmth and body of wool with the smoothness and subtle lustre of silk, it offers an understated sense of luxury while retaining the character of a handmade textile.

    At approximately 180 GSM, the fabric falls within the light-to-midweight range. It feels softly warm without being heavy, making it suitable for comfortable layering, flowing garments, scarves, shawls, and refined occasionwear. The fabric has more movement and fluidity than pure wool while offering greater body and structure than lightweight silk.

    How It Is Made

    This fabric is handwoven using a blend of wool and silk yarns. The two fibres complement each other beautifully: wool contributes softness, gentle warmth, breathability, and body, while silk adds a smoother touch, graceful fall, and subtle natural sheen.

    The handloom weaving process creates a softly textured surface with delicate yarn slubs and slight variations in the weave. These natural irregularities give the cloth its distinctive character and ensure that every cut is slightly unique.

    Natural Dyeing

    The natural ivory base makes this fabric an excellent option for natural dyeing and other artisanal colour processes. Because wool and silk may absorb dyes differently, the finished colour can develop subtle tonal variation and depth.

    We strongly recommend testing the chosen dye, mordant, and washing method on a small swatch before processing the complete fabric. Results may vary depending on the dye material, water quality, temperature, mordant, and length of the dyeing process.

    Wash and Care

    Dry cleaning is recommended for the best long-term results and to preserve the fabric’s texture, colour, and drape.

    If washing at home:

    * Test a small swatch before washing the complete fabric
    * Hand wash gently in cold water
    * Use a mild wool-safe or silk-safe detergent
    * Wash separately
    * Do not soak for prolonged periods
    * Do not bleach
    * Do not scrub, wring, or twist
    * Gently press out excess water without stretching
    * Reshape and dry flat in the shade
    * Avoid tumble drying
    * Steam gently or iron from the reverse side on low heat
    * Use a pressing cloth between the iron and fabric
    * Store clean, dry, and protected from moths

    Please Note

    As this fabric is handwoven from natural wool and silk yarns, slight slubs, weave irregularities, small variations in width, and subtle differences in tone may occur. These are authentic characteristics of handloom fabric and are not considered defects.

    The natural ivory colour may also appear slightly warmer or cooler depending on lighting and screen settings. We recommend ordering a swatch first if exact colour, opacity, or handfeel is important for your project.
