    Descripción

This exceptional heavyweight Eri silk is handwoven from softly spun silk yarns and presented entirely undyed and unbleached. Its natural tone comes directly from the fibre, giving the cloth a warm, understated appearance with subtle tonal variation.

Unlike glossy filament silks, Eri silk has a softly textured, almost wool-like character with a restrained matte sheen. The handwoven construction reveals gentle slubs and irregularities across the surface, adding depth while preserving the fabric’s natural, artisanal quality.

At 290 GSM, this is a substantial heavyweight silk with excellent body and presence. It feels dense and softly structured without becoming rigid, making it particularly suitable for outerwear, tailored garments, and textile projects that require both warmth and refinement.

The fabric will gradually soften with handling, washing, and wear while retaining its characteristic texture and strength.

    Care Instructions

Professional dry cleaning is recommended to preserve the fabric’s texture, shape, and natural finish.

If washing at home, first test a small swatch. Gently hand wash in cold water using a mild, silk-safe detergent. Do not soak, bleach, scrub, or wring.

Reshape while damp and dry flat in the shade. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Iron on low heat from the reverse side using a pressing cloth.

If the finished garment will be washed, pre-washing a measured swatch is strongly recommended before cutting, as handwoven silk may relax or shrink slightly.

    Please Note

Slubs, tonal variations, and minor irregularities are inherent characteristics of handwoven Eri silk and should not be considered defects.

Because the fabric is undyed and unbleached, slight natural variations in tone may occur between batches. Colours may also appear different depending on lighting and individual screen settings.
