Indigo Studies is a collection of two lightweight handwoven Kala cotton fabrics, each defined by pure indigo stripes woven across a warm ivory ground.
Rather than applying the colour as a surface print, the indigo-dyed yarn is integrated directly into the fabric’s construction. This gives the stripes a softer, more tactile appearance and allows the subtle variations of the handloom and indigo dye to remain visible.
Available Designs
Indigo Study I — Fine Stripe: Closely spaced, consistently repeating indigo and ivory lines. This variation has a clean, linear rhythm with a slightly more tailored and graphic appearance.
Indigo Study II — Interval Stripe: Fine lines and broader indigo bands arranged in irregular groups, separated by wider areas of warm ivory. This variation feels more relaxed and distinctly handloom in character.
At approximately 120 GSM, both fabrics are lightweight, pliable and easy to gather. They fall into relaxed folds rather than holding a crisp or rigid shape, making them particularly suited to breathable garments and softly constructed silhouettes.
The ivory ground is warm rather than stark optical white. Small slubs, flecks, differences in stripe alignment and shifts in the indigo tone are intrinsic to the handwoven and pure-indigo process.

Ideal Uses
Ideal for shirts, blouses, tunics, relaxed dresses, gathered skirts, lightweight overshirts, scarves, lined trousers, summer separates, quilt accents and softly draped interior textiles.
Care Instructions
Hand wash separately in cold water using a mild detergent. Do not soak, scrub or wring. Pure indigo may release some surface colour, particularly during the first washes, and will gradually develop its own character with use. Dry in the shade and iron on a low-to-medium cotton setting. Prewashing a swatch before cutting is recommended.
