    Description

A light, airy Bengal handwoven cotton featuring a seersucker-inspired weave that creates subtle puckering and breathability without the use of elastane or chemical finishes. At 92 GSM, this is an ultra-lightweight, summer-ready cloth with an artisanal character—crisp in appearance yet soft in wear. The gently textured surface lifts the fabric away from the skin, enhancing airflow while giving the textile a beautifully considered, craft-forward identity.

    2) How It’s Made

This fabric is handwoven in Bengal on traditional looms, using fine cotton yarns arranged to mimic the tensioned effects of classic seersucker. Instead of chemical crinkle treatments, the textured stripes are achieved structurally through differential warp tension and weave variation, resulting in a naturally puckered, permanent surface. The finish is minimal and garment-appropriate, preserving the fabric’s lightness and tactile authenticity.

    3) Technical Specifications

    Fiber: 100% cotton
    Construction: Handwoven textured weave, seersucker-inspired
    Weight: 92 GSM (ultra-lightweight)
    Width: 45 inches (114 cm)
    Finish: Light, natural hand
    Stretch: None (stable woven)
    Opacity: Semi-opaque
    Surface: Subtle puckered texture

    4) Handfeel & Drape

Crisp, cool, and breathable with a delicate, tactile surface from the textured weave. The drape is light, fluid, and airy, ideal for soft gathers and flowing silhouettes while retaining enough body to avoid cling.

    5) Ideal Uses

    Summer shirts, blouses, and tops
    Dresses, skirts, and breezy tunics
    Lightweight scarves and stoles
    Breathable lining for warm-weather garments
Table runners, napkins, and soft home accents
    (Not suitable for stretch-dependent patterns.)

    6) Wash & Care + Disclaimers

Pre-wash cold, gentle cycle or hand wash; line dry
Wash separately for the first few washes to avoid color transfer
Iron warm on the reverse side if desired; avoid heavy pressing on textured areas
Expect the hand to soften further with washing
Always test a small swatch before cutting yardage
