Himalayan Stinging Nettle Fabric | Washed & Unwashed | 54″ Wide, 270 GSM
$15.50Excl. T.V.A.
Description
This substantial Himalayan stinging nettle fabric is available in two finishes: Unwashed and Washed.
Woven from 100% nettle fibre, the cloth has the dry, breathable hand and distinctive organic texture associated with Himalayan nettle. At approximately 270 GSM, it offers excellent body and durability while remaining comfortable and flexible enough for apparel and interior projects.
The two finishes allow makers to choose between a crisper, more structured cloth and a softer, more relaxed version of the same fabric.
Unwashed Variation
The unwashed fabric retains its original loom-state character, with a firmer hand, more pronounced texture, and greater initial structure.
It is ideal for makers who want to control the washing, softening, or finishing process themselves. The fabric will relax, soften, and may shrink during its first wash.
Washed Variation
The washed fabric has been gently laundered to relax the fibres and soften the surface.
It feels more pliable and comfortable from the beginning, with a naturally lived-in texture and more relaxed drape. Although already washed, some additional relaxation or shrinkage may still occur.

Natural slubs, tonal variations, and irregularities are inherent characteristics of stinging nettle fabric and should not be considered defects.
The washed and unwashed variations will differ in texture, softness, drape, and surface appearance. These differences are intentional.
The fabric will continue to soften and develop character with washing and use.
