Description
## Fabric Overview
This Tussar silk noil-striped fabric is a substantial, textured textile with a refined, artisanal character. At 280 GSM, it combines the organic irregularity of silk noil with the visual rhythm of raised woven stripes, creating a fabric that feels grounded, architectural, and quietly luxurious.
Its natural ivory tone and matte surface lend it a timeless, understated elegance, making it particularly suitable for slow-made, design-led garments and textile-focused interiors.
## How the Fabric Is Made
Silk noil is produced using the shorter fibres left behind during silk spinning. These fibres are spun into staple yarn, giving the finished cloth its characteristic slubs, softly irregular texture, and matte appearance.
For this fabric, Tussar silk noil yarns are loom-woven into a plain-weave base. Additional yarn emphasis is incorporated during weaving to create raised vertical stripes directly within the cloth.
The texture is entirely woven into the fabric—it is not printed, embroidered, or applied to the surface.

## Wash and Care
Dry cleaning is recommended for the best longevity.
If hand washing, use cold water and a mild, pH-neutral detergent. Do not soak, bleach, wring, or twist the fabric. Gently remove excess water and line dry in the shade.
Iron on the reverse using low to medium heat. Always test a small swatch before washing or pressing the full yardage.
## Natural Fabric Disclaimer
Silk noil naturally contains slubs, irregular yarn thickness, uneven texture, and gentle tonal variation. Minor variations in the woven stripes may also occur.
These characteristics are inherent to the fibre and weaving process and form part of the fabric’s authentic, artisanal appeal. They should not be considered defects.
