    Description

This handwoven Mulberry Paper Silk is a beautifully lightweight silk fabric with a refined surface, subtle sheen, and a distinctive crisp, papery hand. Woven from fine mulberry silk yarns, it combines the elegance of silk with a gently structured drape that holds pleats, gathers, and sculptural silhouettes particularly well.

At 80 GSM, the fabric remains light and airy while offering slightly more body than an ultra-sheer silk. Its smooth yet naturally textured surface gives finished garments an understated, artisanal character. Depending on the design and lighting, a lining may be preferred.

As this fabric is woven by hand, minor slubs, irregularities, and subtle variations in the weave may occur. These are natural characteristics of handwoven textiles and make every length unique.

    Care Instructions

Dry cleaning is recommended to preserve the fabric’s texture and finish.

If washing at home, test a small swatch first. Gently hand wash separately in cold water using a mild, silk-safe detergent. Do not soak, bleach, scrub, or wring. Dry naturally in the shade and iron on low heat from the reverse side using a pressing cloth.

We recommend pre-washing or steaming the fabric before cutting if the finished garment will be washed.

    Please Note

Colours may appear slightly different depending on lighting and individual screen settings. Handwoven variations are not defects but an integral part of the fabric’s character.
