    Description

A deeply saturated jet-black cotton drill with a refined, workwear-grade character. Dense, durable, and purposefully structured, this is a substantial twill fabric that balances everyday utility with a clean, elevated appearance.

At approximately 350 GSM, it is a true heavyweight cloth with excellent stability and shape retention. Its rich black colour, compact weave, and crisp hand give it a quiet authority suited to both contemporary tailoring and traditional workwear.

With use and repeated laundering, the fabric will gradually soften and may develop a subtle, individual patina.

    ### How It’s Made

This cotton drill is woven in a pronounced twill construction, creating the characteristic diagonal rib associated with strength, durability, and abrasion resistance.

The yarns are tightly set to form a compact, stable surface with minimal shifting or seam slippage. The fabric is piece-dyed to achieve a deep, even jet-black shade throughout the cloth.

Its finish remains uncoated, allowing the natural breathability and tactile character of cotton to remain present.

    ### Handfeel & Drape

The fabric holds its shape beautifully while remaining pliable enough for comfortable, hard-wearing garments. Its low drape makes it particularly suited to architectural, tailored, and workwear-inspired silhouettes rather than soft or fluid designs.

The cloth will soften naturally with wear and washing while retaining its inherent strength and structure.

    ### Wash & Care

Machine wash separately in cold water on a gentle cycle using a mild detergent. Dark colours may release some excess dye during the first few washes, so avoid washing with pale fabrics.

Line drying is preferred. If using a tumble dryer, choose a low-temperature setting and avoid excessive heat, as this may cause shrinkage or affect the finish.

Iron on medium heat from the reverse side if required. Avoid bleach and harsh stain-removal products.

Pre-washing is strongly recommended before cutting, as cotton may shrink. The fabric will naturally soften and develop character with repeated wear and laundering. Slight fading along seams, folds, and high-contact areas is an expected feature of dark, piece-dyed cotton.
