Mulberry Claret Herringbone Wool Tweed Fabric, 58” Wide, 350 GSM

Description
Mulberry Claret is a richly coloured handwoven herringbone tweed made from 80% wool and 20% recycled PET. Its tonal herringbone structure creates a fine, rhythmic surface that becomes increasingly visible as light moves across the fabric.
The colour sits beautifully between mulberry, crimson and deep claret. It is more complex than a conventional burgundy: illuminated areas reveal a saturated berry-red, while folds and shadows deepen toward dark wine. This variation gives the fabric exceptional visual richness without introducing a contrasting pattern.
At approximately 350 GSM, this is a substantial outerwear-weight tweed with a warm, wool-rich handle. It has enough body for tailored silhouettes, defined seams and structured garment details, while remaining pliable rather than rigid or board-like. Its drape is controlled and weighted rather than loose or fluid.
The surface carries a gentle woollen texture that softens the edges of the herringbone without obscuring it. Subtle shifts in the weave and surface are inherent to its handwoven construction and contribute to the textile’s individual character.
